Q?What is a Lutheran?
A.

Lutheranism gets its name from Martin Luther. Luther was the first to break from the Catholic Church due to its corruption in his day. Lutherans are Christians who believe that the Bible is THE WORD OF GOD. They believe that people are saved by faith in their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ apart from any merit or works of their own.

Q?How does the schedule work?
A.

Lutheran High School currently follows a modified block schedule. Some courses meet 4 times per week and some courses meet 3 times per week. Students are expected to enroll in at least seven classes and may choose a Study Hall. Credit is given by semester.

Q?Are academic scholarships available?
A.

Lutheran High’s financial aid is need-based. Request forms for financial aid should be submitted by May 15th for the following school year.

Q?Does the school have a lunch program?
A.

A daily hot lunch program is provided at LHS. Students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch except when approved by the administration.

Q?Does the school provide transportation?
A.

At this time we do not offer bus service. We encourage parents to carpool. Call the school office for LHS families who live in your neighborhood.

Q?What is the dress code?
A.

Lutheran High has adopted a prescribed dress code for its students.  An appropriate wardrobe promotes an improved self-image.  Neatness and modesty are two important tenets of our code. Students are allowed freedom of clothing choice within certain guidelines. For more information, contact the school office or consult the Student Handbook

Q?Are there provisions for after-school care?
A.

The school is open after school for co-curricular activities. Students who are not involved in those activities may remain after school in the main lobby or in any classroom under a teacher's supervision.

Q?When can students arrive on campus?
A.

Students can arrive as early as 7:00 a.m.

Q?When does the school day start and end?
A.

The student’s day begins at 7:45 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.

Q?When do we need to sign up our child for the next school year?
A.

The registration process begins in January. You can call Lutheran High for a copy of the Enrollment Application or print one from this website. Just click on “Admissions”.
