"I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths." Proverbs 4:11

The 30th annual “Affair of the Heart” Auction is history.  I would like to thank our auction chair, Amber Goeglein, for leadership and courage throughout the process.  Thanks also go to Terry West for providing us with a delicious meal.  So many others, especially students, who helped with set up, take down, and working the floor the night of the auction also deserve our gratitude.  Seeing so many faces supportive of the Lutheran High School of Kansas City is encouraging to our faculty and students.  Knowing there is a contagious swelling of enthusiasm for the Gospel ministry to young people sustains us all.  Thank you again

PROM NOTES: We move from that event to another significant happening—PROM.  This year’s prom will be held this Friday, April 26th at the 1617 Event Space.  We do not have school on Friday. April 26th.  The address is 1617 Main Street, Kansas City, Mo.  The Event Space is a few blocks south and west of the Sprint Center.  Free parking is available adjacent to the venue space.  The Prom runs from 7-11 p.m.  The cost is $50 per person and $80 per couple.  Students must arrive by 8 p.m. and may not leave before 10 p.m.  Student Council has done a commendable job raising monies this year to keep the cost reasonable for all students attending.

All guests need to be signed up in our office PRIOR to the event.  Similar to last year’s prom an assortment of finger foods and hors d’oeuvres will be served from 7-9.  Water, soft drinks, and desserts will be available all evening.

Once the students leave the 1617 Event Space, they will not be allowed to return.  I advise parents to communicate with each other regarding transportation, parties, and the like.  Prom is an exciting event in a young person’s life, but we want it to be a safe one as well.  Do not be afraid to ask hard questions of students and parents regarding post-prom activities.  We will supervise from 7-11, but then we turn them over to the night.  I pray our students reflect their Lord and Savior as they enjoy their evening both at the Event Space and afterwards as well.
